Best Player in World Football 2011 - Messi or Ronaldo?
Ronaldo and Messi stand toe to toe on 24 goals each this season. The debate rages on still as to who really is the best between these two great players. Seemingly, each takes their turn to test the other with two or three goals in a single match.
Ronaldo is performing much better for Madrid this year than last. Under Pellegrini last year, he scored a total of 26 goals in the league, an impressive number by anyone´s standards. However, this year he has already scored 24 times. It is likely that he will destroy the record of his first year with Madrid. He does however still have some challenges ahead. If he continues at the scoring rate of present, he will end the league season with 41 goals, defeating the current record of 38 goals, held by Hugo Sanchez and Telmo Zarra. In addition, he has to vie with Barcelona´s Lionel Messi, his eternal rival for top scorer. A real clash between the two "cracks", as the Spanish like to call the top players.

Cristiano Ronaldo Scores 50 Goals in 51 Games for Real Madrid!!!
On Sunday, February 6th 2011, Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals against Real Sociedad to bring his total amount of goals for Real Madrid to 50. He has scored these 50 goals in 51 league games, a truly remarkable feat. This does not include the goals scored in other competitions by the animal, as Madrid fans call him. Only three players have been quicker than the Portuguese in history: Langara ( for Oviedo, who scored 50 goals in 37 games, seasons 1933/34 and 1934/35), Kubala ( scored for Barcelona in 47 games, seasons 1951/52, 1952/53 and 1953/54) and Pruden (who scored for Atletico and Real Madrid, 48, from 1940/41 to 1945/46). The Portugal forward has scored against every team in La Liga apart from four: Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Valencia and Sporting.

Cristiano Ronaldo 2009/10 Current Goal Statistics: Impressive!
The public has been talking about Lionel Messi and Wayne Rooney’s performances for their respective team as fabulous, but football star Cristiano Ronaldo is one player that the public might wrongly look upon with less admiration.
Ronaldo missed up to two month of action for Real Madrid in the early stages of the 2009/2010 season through injury. He also had to seat out a few number of games through suspension.
Still, Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal statistics for the Spanish giants is nothing but impressive.
Since match-day 1 in La Liga, CR9 has featured 13 times for Real Madrid and last Saturday, he scored his 10th and 11th goal for Los Blancos in the league.
In the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo played 4 games out of the 6 in the group stages but he already tops the goal scoring charts with 6 goals.
Calculating quickly, the world’s most expensive football star has scored 17 goals so far in 17 appearances. This makes an average of one goal per match.
Who knows if Cristiano Ronaldo will not pip out La Liga’s current top scorer Lionel Messi for the Pichichi honor?
Should he maintain this record and should Real Madrid go far in the UEFA Champions League, then Cristiano Ronaldo will surely scoop Europe’s Golden Boot just like he did two seasons ago after scoring 42 goals for Manchester United.
